Day 2 – Friday, April 4, 2025
All day April 4, 2025
Integrating Wholeness: The IntraConnection of Our Inner and Relational Self in Healing and Development
Dr. Dan Siegel
In this comprehensive full-day workshop, Dr. Dan Siegel will delve deeply into the intricate connections between individual personality development and the broader concept of intraconnection—the idea that individuals are not separate entities but fundamentally interconnected with others and the world around them. Drawing upon key concepts from his seminal works IntraConnected and Personality and Wholeness in Therapy, Siegel will provide a dynamic exploration of how recognizing and integrating multiple developmental pathways within the PDP framework can foster greater psychological well-being, resilience, and holistic healing.
Participants will explore the neurobiological, relational, and psychological dimensions of development, and how these factors interact to shape the individual’s sense of belonging, identity, relationships, and capacity for growth. Siegel will highlight the nine Patterns of Developmental Pathways (PDP) that serve as organizing principles for understanding how individuals navigate their own inborn temperament and how this interfaces with their life experiences—especially attachment relationships early in life—to form our personality, from childhood through adulthood.
Learning Objectives
- Describe the nine Patterns of Developmental Pathways (PDP) and their influence on personality and psychological development across the lifespan.
- Explain the neurobiological processes that contribute to the interconnected nature of self and relationships, focusing on emotional regulation, cognition, and resilience.
- Apply attachment and relational concepts to strengthen therapeutic bonds and foster secure personality development in clients.
- Incorporate somatic awareness and body-based approaches to support clients’ emotional processing and mind-body integration in therapy.
- Use techniques that help clients process and integrate emotional and cognitive experiences, promoting healthier self-concepts and adaptive coping.
- Promote clients’ sense of identity and agency through interventions that consider cultural, social, and temporal influences.
- Evaluate the role of transpersonal experiences (e.g., spirituality) and temporal dimensions (past, present, and future) in enhancing clients’ psychological well-being.
- Develop therapeutic interventions that integrate multiple developmental pathways, helping clients cultivate resilience, intraconnection, and a sense of wholeness.
Dr. Siegel’s Approach
We’ll explore how cultivating an understanding of the self as an interconnected being—both biologically and relationally—can enhance therapeutic outcomes. Dr. Siegel also focuses on practical applications of these insights for therapists and professionals, providing tools and techniques for helping clients achieve healing, resilience, and greater wholeness in their lives.
Through experiential exercises, case studies, and reflective dialogue, participants will learn how to harness these multiple pathways to foster deeper connection, growth, and the integration of diverse aspects of our inner and relational lives. This workshop will provide a transformative framework for understanding the complexities of human development and the potential for profound healing within the therapeutic context.
