ZOOM Meeting Information
We will be emailing out the ZOOM access link on Wednesday April 2nd. If you have not received your link before the workshop begins on April 22nd, please reach out to jessica@suncrestcounseling.com for assistance.
Please log into the meeting at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the workshop in order to ensure your internet connection and device are working properly. During the workshop, keep your video on and make sure that your name that is displayed in the zoom meeting matches your registration – that is how we confirm you attended the entire training.
Once your training is complete, please make sure you complete the evaluation form that is in your Box.com folder for this training so you can receive the certificate of completion from The Gottman Institute. You should be able to fill it out online but if you are not able to, you can download the evaluation form, fill it out, and upload it again.
You are taking this training from the comfort of your home so we would suggest finding a comfortable quiet place to watch the live training without interruptions. We have planned two 15 minute breaks each day and a 90 minute lunch break so you can rest your eyes, move your body, and nourish yourself to continue learning
Workshop Materials
If you have registered for this training, we have purchased the digital materials for you by now. Please look for an email from the Gottman Institute confirming the purchase of materials on your behalf. For the Level 3 training, you will receive two links. One to an online course that has all the documents you need including the digital manual.
The second is an invitation and access to box.com where you will find a folder called Utah Level 3 Online Training – Bumberry&Meunier. Please make sure you are able to access this folder and download the materials for this training. You will be able to download the materials from the online course or the box.com folder. The box.com folder is HIPAA secure so you can use it to upload any videos you might want to present at this training. Please see description below for use of videos in the Level 3 training.
Important: Please review the Level 3 Readiness (or Preparedness) Checklist prior to the training and make sure you are familiar with all the concepts listed.
If you are not familiar with a concept or intervention, please take some time to review your Level 2 training materials. In the Level 3 training, we expect everyone to have a basic foundation in the Gottman method. We are happy to answer questions or will review the major interventions but our goal is to go deeper and enhance your ability to apply Gottman method couples therapy to complex couples.

Participant Video and Audio Samples in Training
The Level 3 training is a practicum and participants are encouraged to bring their questions and challenges in applying the Gottman method to couples therapy.
It is not required but strongly encouraged for attendees to bring audio or video samples of their work with couples. The video can be a brief 10-15 minutes, showing just the couple and offering a segment of a session where something interesting or substantive is happening. We are using the videos to get a live sense of the couple and not to evaluate your competence in the method.
The therapist does not have to be on the video and does not have to show their technique on the video. In fact, the purpose of the video is to show a video clip of a couple interacting so that we can use it as a stimulus for case discussion and role play. The therapists bringing videos of their work will have an opportunity to describe the background on the case and ask any questions they might have about working with the couple.
If participants do not have a video, they are encouraged to submit audio tapes or to bring a write up of a case so we can have material to work with.
The Level 3 experience is enhanced by having many cases to discuss and apply or adapt the Gottman method of couples therapy to. All material will be treated with confidentiality and the clients’ identifying information will not be used. for the Gottman Level 3 training.
